Lighting and eyes

Here I come again! Last weekend I experimented with lighting at taking photos. I had at home a lamp which gives totally white light and I've got another one (a few days later I found another lamp in a room ¬¬). 

I used my beloved Norlij as a model, as I miss to take photos of him, I have a photo shoot in mind with him and I wanted to check something. I had in mind to buy new eyes for him. Why? Because in almost all photos I took of him at home, you couldn’t tell which eyes colour he has and I felt disappointed. I wasn’t sure if the problem was his eyes or it was because of the lighting.

Lighting isn’t as good as it should be, as one of the lamps gives yellow light (I guess I will fix it with a transparent blue paper or something similar) but it’s ok even to take photos without flash (I don’t use to take them with flash), now Norlij’s eyes colour are clearly identificable and edited the photos look pretty good. This means that I won’t buy new eyes for him (they would have been red as well).

Iluminación y ojos

¡Ya estoy por aquí otra vez! La semana pasada experimenté con la iluminación. En casa encontré una lámpara que da luz completamente blanca y conseguí otra (días más tarde encontré otra lámpara que podía servir en otra habitación  ¬¬) 

Usé a mi queridísimo Norlij como modelo ya que echo de menos hacerle fotos, tengo una sesión en mente con él y quería comprobar algo. Tenía en mente comprarle otros ojos. ¿Por qué? Porque en casi todas las fotos que le he hecho en casa, apenas se aprecia el color de sus ojos y eso me decepcionaba. No estaba segura si era problema de los ojos o de la iluminación.

La iluminación no es tan buena como debería ser ya que una de las lámpara da luz amarilla (ya intentaré solucionarlo usando papel transparente azul o algo parecido) pero es pasable para hacer fotos sin flash (no suelo usar flash), ahora los ojos de Norlij se ven claramente y retocadas digitalmente, las fotos quedan bastante bien. Esto significa que no le voy a comprar ojos nuevos (habrían sido rojos también)

An afternoon at Palau Sant Jordi (Barcelona)

Last Sunday I went to Palau Sant Jordi, in Barcelona, with my friend. She has BJD’s as well and this place is very nice and beautiful to take photos of them. I don’t like to take my dolls out, mainly because of the sun (it damages resin if you expose them for a long time) and Norlij is heavy to carry I admit it, I hate to carry things, but is nice to do it once a year at least ;) I took Norlij and Daisuke and my friend her beautiful Adam William Douglas.

My friend took a lot of photos of her doll, but I couldn’t take many of mine because the battery of my camera was very low :( At least, I was pretty satisfied with the few once I took.

We had quite fun and two women asked us about our dolls, as they thought they were very odd but beautiful and wanted to know which kind of dolls are, so we answered all their questions and talked a bit with them. These women were with a little boy, who seemed quite shy and didn’t want to be close to us :

Una tarde en el Palau Sant Jordi (Barcelona)

El pasado domingo fui al Palau Sant Jordi, en Barcelona, con una amiga. Ella también tiene BJD’s y este lugar es agradable y muy bonito para hacer fotos a los muñecos. No me gusta sacar a mis muñecos a la calle, principalmente por el sol (daña a la resina si se expone durante mucho tiempo) y porque Norlij pesa bastante como para ir cargada con él de un lado a otro lo admito, odio llevar cargas, pero está bien sacarlos al menos una vez al año ;) Me llevé a Norlij y a Daisuke y mi amiga se llevó a su guapísimo Adam William Douglas.

Mi amiga le hizo bastantes fotos a su muñeco, yo no pude hacer tantas porque la batería la tenía casi agotada :( Al menos me gustaron las pocas fotos que pude hacer.

Nos lo pasamos bastante bien y dos mujeres nos preguntaron sobre nuestros muñecos, les parecían bastante raros pero bonitos y querían saber qué clase de muñecos eran, así que contestamos a todas sus preguntas y hablamos un poco con ellas. Con estas mujeres iba también un niño, aunque era bastante tímido y no quería acercarse a nosotras :I

All the 3 dolls together. The size difference is quite heavy. My dolls are 16cm and 60cm high, my friend’s 70cm.

A morning in the park

Last Friday 15^th my mother and I were bored and we went for a walk in our town. I took Daisuke in case I could find an interesting place where to take photos, so we ended in a park which is in the other side of the town, were these photos are taken. It was pretty fun :)

Una mañana en el parque 

El pasado viernes estábamos aburridas mi madre y yo y salimos a dar una vuelta. Me llevé a Daisuke por si encontraba algún sitio interesante donde sacarle fotos, así que acabamos en un parque que está en la otra punta del pueblo en el que hice estas fotos. Fue bastante divertido :)

Skater

I’m back with a photoshoot! I had the idea to take photos of Daisuke with a skateboard for a month and finally I got one for his size :) As the doll is as small, is easy to transport it everywhere :D These photos are taken in a park while I was walking my dog last Sunday in the morning. 


¡Estoy de vuelta con una sesión fotográfica! Hace cosa de un mes, se me ocurrió la idea de hacerle fotos a Daisuke con monopatín y finalmente encontré uno a su medida :) Como el muñeco es pequeño, es fácil de transportar a todas partes :D Estas fotos las hice en un parque mientras paseaba con mi perro el pasado domingo por la mañana.

New girl at home

Finally, I’ve bought a Dollzone Clovera head, as this mould was in my wishlist to custom her as Danielle, Norlij’s half-vampire girlfriend. I found her in a Spanish BJD’s  forum, it’s 2^nd hand and was very, very cheap (with face-up and eyes included), so it was an unique opportunity to get it as cheap, so here I have it since last 14th June :) When she arrived and I saw her, I thought she was even more beautiful than she looks in the photos and, definitely, she’s the perfect mould for the character. Even I like the eyes she wears. Now, I only have to buy her body, but I’m going to take it easy and I’ll buy it when the right moment to do it will come and I won’t buy more BJDs. Basically, because all the characters I wanted to have, Norlij, Daisuke and Danielle, I have them already (please, remember that the rest of dolls aren’t mine). My mother would like to one more doll, Byron, Maiko’s vampire boyfriend, but he won’t come in the early future… if he ever comes.

Chica nueva en casa

Finalmente, me decidí a comprar la cabeza de Dollzone Clovera, ya que estaba en mi wishlist para caracterizarla como a Danielle, la novia medio-vampira de Norlij. La encontré de 2ª mano tirada de precio (maquillaje y ojos incluidos) en un foro español de BJD’s y vi que era una oportunidad única, así que aquí la tengo desde el pasado 14 de junio :) Cuando por fin la tuve en mis manos, pensé que era aún más bonita que en las fotos y, definitivamente, es el molde perfecto para el personaje. Incluso me gustan los ojos que tiene. Ahora, solo me falta comprar su cuerpo, por el que no voy a agobiarme y compraré cuando encuentre el momento oportuno y termino con el tema de las BJD’s. Principalmente, porque ya he enresinado  los personajes que quería, Norlij, Daisuke y Danielle (por favor, recordad que el resto de muñecas no son mías). Bueno… mi madre tiene pensado enresinar a Byron, el novio vampiro de Maiko, pero este me temo que va a tardar bastante tiempo en llegar a casa… Si es que llega algún día.
