DIY: Razor blade for Nendoroid · Maquinilla de afeitar para Nendoroid

Last year I had the idea to take some photos and I needed a razor for nendoroids. Since none of my nendos have this accessory, I had to make one. I'm going to show you how I did it, in case you also want to do it.

Materials:
⚫ Flat and round toothpicks
⚫ Aluminum foil
⚫ Acrylic paint
⚫ Brushes
⚫ Fine-grit sandpaper, file or nail file
⚫ Scissors
⚫ White glue or instant glue

Important:
⚫ If you are a minor, supervision of an adult.

Instructions:

1. You need a round toothpick and a flat one. With the round one we will make the handle of the razor and the blade with the plane one.

El año pasado se me ocurrió hacer unas fotos y necesitaba una maquinilla de afeitar para nendoroids. Como ninguno de mis nendos tiene este accesorio, tuve que hacer uno. Os voy a mostrar cómo lo hice, por si vosotros también lo queréis hacer.

Materiales:
⚫ Palillos mondadientes planos y redondos
⚫ Papel de aluminio
⚫ Pintura acrílica
⚫ Pinceles
⚫ Papel de lija de grano fino, lima o lima de uñas
⚫ Tijeras
⚫ Cola blanca o pegamento instantáneo

Importante:
⚫ Si eres menor, supervisión de un adulto.

Instrucciones:

1. Se necesita un palillo mondadientes redondo y otro plano. Con el redondo haremos el mango de la maquinilla de afeitar y con el plano la cuchilla.

2. We take the round toothpick and put the figure's hand on it to measure the handle of the razor. On both sides we make a mark with a pencil to know where we have to cut the toothpick.

2. Cogemos el palillo redondo y ponemos encima la mano de la figura para hacer la medida del mango de la maquinilla. A ambos lados hacemos una marca con un lápiz para saber por dónde tenemos que cortar el palillo.

3. Carefully cut the toothpick through the marks with scissors. I did it with a nail clipper, so use what you have at hand or is more comfortable for you.

3. Con cuidado, corta el palillo por las marcas con unas tijeras. Yo lo hice con un cortauñas, así que utiliza lo que tengas más a mano o sea más cómodo para ti.  

4. Sand the edges with fine-grit sandpaper, a file, or nail file; everything works. The edges must be well sanded.

When sanding, one of the edges has to have a slight inclination because the blade will stick to that part.

4. Lija los bordes con papel de lija de grano fino, lima o lima de uñas, todo sirve. Tienen que quedar los bordes bien limados.

Cuando lijes, unos de los bordes tiene que tener una pequeña inclinación ya que la cuchilla se pegará en esa parte.

5. On the flat toothpick make two marks to make the base of the blade. I did it by eye, so it goes to your liking but make it compensate with the handle.

5. En el palillo plano haz dos marcas para hacer la base de la cuchilla. Lo hice a ojo, así que va a vuestro gusto pero haced que quede compensado con el mango.

6. Cut the toothpick by the marks and follow step 4.

6. Corta el palillo por las marcas y sigue el paso 4.

7. When you have both pieces well sanded, glue them with white glue or instant glue. Remember to glue the base of the blade on the edge that has an inclination.

7. Cuando tengas ambas piezas bien lijadas, pégalas con cola blanca o pegamento instantáneo. Recuerda pegar la base de la cuchilla en el borde que tiene una inclinación.

8. Paint the razor blade to your liking.

8. Pinta la maquinilla a tu gusto.

9. While the paint dries, cut two small strips of aluminum foil. These will be the blades.

9. Mientras se seca la pintura, corta dos tiras pequeñas de papel de aluminio. Estas serán las hojas de la cuchilla.

10. When the paint of the razor is dry, carefully (and with patience) glue the strips of aluminum foil  onto the blade. I also painted a blue strip.

10. Cuando la pintura de la maquinilla esté seca, pega con cuidado (y con paciencia) las tiras de papel de aluminio en la cuchilla. También le pinté una línea azul.

You now have your razor finished and ready for your bearded nendoroids to shave.
