On the 23rd April was Sant Jordi's (Saint George) Day, patron of Catalonia. This day is also known as El dia del Llibre (Book Day). We have the tradition of giving a rose or a book to the person you love. In past a book was given to men and a rose to women, nowadays this has changed and both men and women receive books or, why not? Roses. So I took a couple of photos to commemorate this day.
El 23 de abril fue el día de Sant Jordi, patrón de Cataluña. Este día también es conocido como El dia del Llibre (Día del libro). Tenemos la tradición de regalar una rosa o un libro a la persona a la que amas. Anteriormente se regalaba un libro a los hombre y una rosa a las mujeres, actualmente esto ha cambiado y tanto hombres como mujeres reciben libros o, ¿porqué no? Rosas. Así que hice un par de fotos para conmemorar este día.
Although my beloved doggy died on the 6th April, life goes on and therefore, I went for a walk in the afternoon in Barcelona. The city center is full of stands where they sell books and roses and thus distract the mind and not think. In my personal blog you can see the photos I took in the city.

Aunque mi queridísimo perrito falleció el 6 de abril, la vida sigue y por lo tanto, fui a pasear por la tarde en Barcelona ya que el centro de la ciudad está lleno de paradas donde venden libros y rosas y así distraer la mente y no pensar. En mi blog personal podéis ver las fotos que hice en la ciudad.

It is a handmade brooch made with fimo, so there weren't two identical dragons. I will always wear it on Sant Jordi day and maybe he may appear in some other photo the rest of the year.

Es un broche hecho a mano con fimo, así que no habían dos dragones iguales. Lo llevaré siempre el día de Sant Jordi y puede que aparezca en alguna que otra foto el resto del año.

¡Hola Lily! El día de Sant Jordi siempre me ha gustado, en el colegio y el instituto se hacían cosas especiales. Eso sí, como no me entusiasma pasear por Barcelona, cuando fui el año pasado en la diada no quedé muy impresionada. Aún así, la tradición de regalar libros y rosas me parece preciosa y es muy bonito tanta dar como recibir.

EliminarCuando iba al colegio se empezaba a hacer cosas especiales para ese día y me encantaba que llegase esa fecha. Es una tradición muy bonita.
A mi si me gusta pasear por Barcelona, es una ciudad muy bonita y cuando llevo la cámara me gusta fotografiar cosas que no había fotografiado antes.
